My room was clean, and homely; it felt more like an apartment. Especially for one person, since i was able to push the extra bed to the side and open up a whole area during my weeklong stay. I particularly enjoyed the bright bathroom lighting. Even at more well known motels such as Motel 6, I've found the lighting dim, making it difficult to properly apply make up and things. But at the Brickhouse Motel, I never once had an issue. There was also plenty of storage space in the bathroom for my things. The room only lost a star because it wasn't well maintained. There were handles on the dresser missing or broken, and there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom. The towel bar was also broken, though i managed to rig it back together, mostly. The floors were scratched up, and the dining table had one side-leaf that was broken. All in all these were innocuous problems that were made up by the cheap price ($250 for one week) and the apartment-like feeling i got being there, based on the amenities/furnishings. The room came with a microwave and a mini fridge–which even motel 6 doesn't offer–as well as a large-screen TV that isn't wall mounted, making it easy to turn and reposition as desired. The TV also boasted it's own HDMI cable, so i didn't need my own in order to hook up my XBox. As for the location, it's right off Hwy N coming from Madison, right when you enter Stoughton, making it out of the way of the center of the town. This allowed me easy access to the town, as well as to Madison, which was a 17 minute drive. Next door was a laundromat, and beside that was a Kwik trip, so all in all i believe it is well located. The out of the way location was especially nice when it came to the memorial day events which consumed downtown Stoughton and made getting around a chore for someone unfamiliar with the town. I would definitely recommend the Brickhouse to anyone looking for a long-term stay motel.
The place is nice the food is good and the bartenders are sweet.
